OMG! NO! Delayed!?

Just came back from my local EB (to pay for my pre-order and pick up Rome:Barbarian Invasion)

and buddy does a double take and says that the the date of civ4 holiness has been changed from the 24th -> NOV 16TH!?!!?! Said it was due to shipping problems so they are delaying the whole thing. Can anyone CONFRIM this!?

I have seen our EB here be off by a couple days from the accepted well known USA\major canadian cities... but never like 1/2 a month...

I am a couple hours of out Vancouver - His exact words were.. they couldn't get enough shipped around - so they delayed the whole release to ensure everyone gets it at the same time.

That sounds like the release date before it got pushed up to october. That store may not of updated yet, I know it was weeks before the civ4 pre-order boxes (featuring the pre-order bonuses announced at the same time as the new date) had the NOV scribled on the front changed to OCT at my stores.

EDIT: of course being in a different country could affect it...

i said that to him - he said he did remember it said the 24th - because alot of people have preordered it.. now it says the 16th. So I *hope* its an error in their system.

There is RARELY an issue with canadian\usa dates being different... I had titles like civ3 and World of Warcraft on the day of release. Our EB here is even concidered "a Remote store"

Well, that was a waste of money. Any of the mods available are better than that expansion.

EB's website still says it ships on the 25th.

Everything else on the internet still says the 24th/25th, so I don't think this is universal..

Can anyone call their local ebs? find out? Because from what I understand - the EB outlets update their info from a master DB somewhere in the USA

Though every major game has rumors and misinformation about delays at one point or another, I am concerned that it has not been announced that it has gone gold yet.

Or maybe I just missed it...

The game hasn't and won't be delayed. It's still shipping on the 24th. Don't worry.

Hope you are right and EB Guy was just in error... but i got him to double check... There are 2 in my city.. on my break I will phone the other.

I'd rather have the EB guy in error than the game being delayed. There's a lot of explanations for this though. Maybe Vancouver or EB had some shipping issues.

Well I hope he was just on the crack - going to call our Local Futureshop as well (owned by Best Buy) see what they have for a release... I seriously don't feel like waiting for civ4! haha.. i took a couple of days off in anticipation of one-more-turn syndrome.

OK - I am seriously getting worried here - I checked both EBs both show Nov 16th and gave the same reason. I called Futureshop (best buy owned) and they said they used to have the 24th... now its not even in their system.....................................................................................................................................................................................................
