One of my fans seems to be going out...

About three days ago I started up my computer to hear a disconcerting sound: A loud humming, one which my computer certainly shouldn't have been making. After A little investigation I found out it was one of my tops fans. I took the fan out and inspected it, but I couldn't find anything wrong with it. After doing so, I reinstalled it, and everything was working great again, no whining or humming. Until today...

This morning I had the same problem again. I found out it was the same fan, and once again couldn't find anything wrong with it. I put it back in the case, but disconnected it. I should have enough cooling as long as I don't run any GPU-intensive programs, as I have 4 120mm fans(including the broken one). Still, I figure I need to get a replacement, as I guess it's the fan's motor that is crapping out on me. Anyone know of any good fan brands? This is my case.

Unless you have x-ray vision, you wont find anything wrong with a humming fan. That problem is on the inside of the motor.

You are correct about it likely signaling your fan wearing out though. You could try to put a resistor on there and lower the voltage (if you know how to use a soldering iron, this should be a 5-minute fix) or just get a new fan. I suggest a couple Yate Loon's if you can find them cheap. I've seen them for as low as 3$ a pop and they're fairly quiet/high AF.
