Hello:)

I play FFH2 with my wife and a friend ocassionally and our last games went well with "0" OOS (playing with patch J).
Then we decided to patch to M (cause of the enhanced AI) and our new game gets OOS every 2 turns and every 20 turns maybe its every 5 turns.
Are there any plans to fix it to the standart of patch J ?
Is it knows why the game starts to go OOS (it was at turn 250)
Maybe specific civs cause it ? (for example in my game, loki was built just a few turns bevor the OOS problem began)

Or schould i go back to patch J for multiplayer ?

Any help or advice is appreciated:)

Rolling back is a good idea for now. Before you do post a save game in the bug thread if you haven't already, or ask someone to look at the save there and they might be able to fix it.

alternatively you can convert your save to PBEM by simply loading it as a PBEM game. THat's at least a solution if you like your current game and want to keep playing!

Thanks for your advises.

I am not sure to post this savegame because it has random numbers turned on as an option and i know the ones who look at save games hate this;)

When I convert the save game to pbem can i convert is back and this would help ?

Also, if you've made any changes to the XML or have any modmods installed it will constantly OOS. I have 2 installs of FFH, the original (which I call MP) and a copied version with all my XML changes and mods attached (which I call SP). Makes it alot simpler, except the amount of stuff I have to change back after a patch.

No xml changes or modmods. After playing fall further in MP for a while, i changed back to ffh2 because of the OOS problems in each and every game:)

For those interested,

actually it was patch G with who i had no OOSs at all.
M and J both start getting OOSs at around turn 200. (Epic speed, first religions enter the game)
Tried different AI civs, (no Balseraph for example), so i think its not the AI but has something to do with he AI revamp.

If you want to play some modmod the Wild Mana has been very stable for me and my friend for some time. We haven't dared to try base FFH after G.

Friend and I tried wild mana a lot last month and could not finish any of the games due to game breaking OOS

I am curious is perhaps simultaneous turns might be the culprit here. Has anyone tried their games as regular turn-based games and still experienced OOS?

I don't know much about this program itself, but i really wish there could be a forced sync with the host. Never had this problem with any other game. Its very frustrating when you invest 15+ hours into a game then you have to abandon it due to a repeating OOS issue. I really do not understand why it is not coded to force a sync but like I said I do not know much about his program.

FWIW, I think Popov and I figured out the hard way that Simultaneous Turns doesn't seem to affect the OOS's. Though further testing is welcome.

switched back to patch G and everything is find, guess i will stay at that patch for a while, even the AI is much dumber ;p

Pretty sure civ 4 use a peer to peer network, which means there's no host to force sync to. Only with pitboss and right when starting a game do you have a host.
