Greetings. I am brand new to SG's but have been lurking in the forums for a couple of month's now. I normally win 95%+ on Monarch and 50%+ on emporer. I was wondering if I could jump in on your OSG? It seems like a nice easy one to ease on into SG's in, and maybe we can help each other out. If the answer is yes I will gladly call I got it on Saturday. (As a grad student for Chemical Engineering my time is limited throughout the week).

Alrighty, I was just impatient, grabbed this thing and played a 20 spot.
Turn log
Human Resources introduces divine empororer to his post. RomeotheMadmonk sees many curious and curiouser things. He proclaims that a new sheriff is in town and that this one demands war and religion. The evil HR director laughs at him as the japanese know no one to war against. With this information jarring his thinking romeo settles in to go into mass building, settling and development of his nice territory. Kyoto is switched to granary, Osaka to temple. (A royal decree declares that Osaka sucketh till its borders expandeth). Using the divine right of the emporers of Japan he also asked that the preferences of his world be changed, and due to his religous fervor they were. (I turned of animations).
Turn 1: Moving the mighty warriors around.
Turn 2: Still looking with the warriours.
Turn 3: The northernmost scout returns breathlessly to report that he has found a strange orange land, and that he found a recruit for the army that is a little weak now but with proper diet will grow big and strong.
Turn 4: The strange orangeness is investigated by the new warrior, as the regular one works for the USPS and will not be delayed from his appointed rounds of head roughly north. The orange belongs to da-da-dum the ottomans. The glorious despotic leader decides to call up the Ottomans. He has 35 gold, masonry and WC, but lacks pottery or the wheel. He doesn't want to make any favorable trades so the glorious one lets him stew.
Turn 5: maps from a goody hut in the SE, but see two more huts with the maps. IW in 1, tech to 30%.
Turn 6: IW comes in. Alphabet is up in 15 turns. The glorious mad monk determines that currency should be researched at all haste.
Turn 7: See an ottoman warrior slave combo, but decide to let it pass. War would be fruitless due to the distances involved
Turn 8: 2 goody huts 6 pissed of locals. I see no iron closer than 15 turns from the mighty empire. (N of Kyotot) MM Osaka to get temple this millenia.
Turn 10: The conscript warrior didn't eat his wheaties and kicked the bucked against said P.Oed natives. Kyoto gets granary. A strange decision comes down that kyoto should grow to roughly size 5 before expurgating settlers from its ranks.
Turn 11: Looking with warriors
Turn 12: Osman learned the wheel, see nothing.
Turn 13: Kyoto finishes a temple as we must be religious, and starts on a spear. Osaka finishes temple, starts settler.
Turn 14: Goody hut pays off, teaches us WC, tech to 80% alphanumerics in 3.
Turn 15: Kyoto gloriously expands, pissed off some more natives
Turn 16: Kyoto builds a spear gets to start on a settler, heading the spear to the woods with the 2 wheats NW of Kyoto (worker factory city).
Turn 17: Another local wants to join the army, but he needs muscles as well. Creatine is ordered up for this 2 hp warrior.
Turn 18: Osaka expands, and no longer sucks. Alphabet comes in giving our kiddies something to sing about. Writing is up next. Abet to Osman for masonry and 35 gold. He has 4 total cities we have 2.
Turn 19: exploring
turn 20: found an Incan scout. That foolish scout was willing to trade mysticism plus 10 gold for Abet. He has 5 cities though. After talking to him we pull HBR from the warrior in the SE.
Wrap-up: Settlers are do in 1 and 3 turns respectively. Make sure we use the granary wisely in osaka and keep using it to spit out settlers and spears. Our city count will explode compared to theirs in the next 40 turns. Settle peacefully and build temples and roads. Then we can think about hooking up iron and doing some pointy stick work. Save to follow.
