Is it possible to set OR prereq. to civic in python, or perhaps to do it in some other way?

I do not like cultural values. As it stands, it is too easy to switch to any on the first turn. What I had in mind was that EVERY cultural civic has some prerequisite in mid game tech tree but that every civ can have it's starting civic without tech requirement.

So Balseraphs and Lanun would start game with Liberty, while others would have to research it, and Hippus and Dwarves would start with consumption, etc.

It would also mean that civics couldn't be switched as easily. Currently I take pacifism even if I play Doviello or Sheaim to get my first great sage or prophet, and then switch to Religion for extra 2 happy.

With new system you'd have to think in advance. Opinions?

You don't need to meet the requirements to start with a civic. What is listed as your starting civics are what you start with, regardless of ability to switch back to them if you ever switch out.

No. You switch out automatically next turn. Try it.

@westmastaflash: Arrr, pirate, matey, arr, liberty, sailors life, whores, sea, freedom

I think that isn't really what is meant by liberty.

Odd, could have sworn that it worked once upon a time. Sorry 'bout that. I assume that the Pyramid unlocks an entire Civic set, not each individual Civic IN the set, but you could look at how it works and possibly attach a similar effect to the Palaces of the Civs you want to modify

Maybe also look at the code for the Crusade civic, which requires the Bannor Civilization or a certain tech (Fanatacism?). Hopefully you can just change a && into a || or something.
