Ldi's tuan?

i had to look up BAMF.

Thanks Immac, that means something coming from you.

Heh, I think Tuan is definately B.A.M.F. enough to get a slot... Think LDI would want in?

On a separate note, I always think of the WOT character of the same name when tuan is mentioned.

Yeah, loved that series. I guess it's not done yet, but I'm a little skeptical now that the author died. Maybe I should add in Mat, as well... which would actually allow for *a* Tuan, as well.

In the darkness, the Malakim camped on the river, their fires like little jewels in the desert. Some troops roasted fish while others tried for sleep, but the violence but a few days past haunted many still, to whom the assault had come as a complete surprise.

The wolf prowled past the sleeping soldiers, and the warrior looked down on them with disgust - but his presence was not hidden to those with open eyes and a cry of alarm went up through the camp. Several soldiers brandished weapons at the Doviello, but without any sign of fear he took a few brazen steps forward - as several other Sons of Asena stepped from the darkness - and he grinned a terrible grin.

"I am the Razorwind...responding to a wish to hear my voice. I had thought that the desert rats had heard enough of my voice, when it boomed through Golden Leane and sent them - those that could escape - fleeing in terror. The thousands that remain as my prisoners wail at even the whisper of the Wind, but you seek more, Lugus-swine?"

The Sons of Asena, each with glittering steel handaxes, laughed and prowled forward slowly as their leader spoke.

"Who here wishes to negotiate the surrender of Malakim? You have called and I have come."

A stupid question #2! What is a Mat?

I loved that Tuan guy, I would have loved to see what would happen if I decided to go to Edsunland after all.

Oh yeah and guys, I plan on bringing back an old friend of mine if my character has an unfortunate accidents/assassinated by Rathus, or something.

Guess

Only name wise as I can't think of any other cool name :p

They will probably be different in every other regard though

We know when we have been caught unprepared, when we fave nothing to win by fighting overwealming odds. What are your terms? if they are realistic we will consider them.

We may not be able to defend ourselves or take the battle to your lands but you can never defeat us completely. treat us poorly and we will strike at your unguarded flanks, the insides of your camps, your slave quarries and estates for generations to come. Your armies will constantly have to be deployed to protect your back and flanks and you will be unable to focus on any new enemy... any who should attack you will find a willing ally to help them strike you and you will begin any new conquest with a thorn, nay a dagger, at your side

give us a fair terms and we can add our strength to yours and even grow to accept our conquerors.

and so, warlord, what are the terms of surrender that you would ask of us?

Hakan looked over the Malakim thoughtfully, and then spoke.

"I am wary of an alliance, of us working together. Twenty thousand of your men lost, and yet you beg teamwork? No, I do not think that will work."

"But just as you will never truly be defeated - something I know, as the desert rat is a hardy breed - I seek no extermination of your people. Here are my terms."

---------------
Cessation of Hostilities Between Razorwind Tribe and Malakim Proper
--All violent activity will cease on the Malakim front and on Malakim lands. Razorwind Tribe will not proceed with further hostilities and the Malakim accept all losses without recompensation or vengeful action.
--Malakim forces will not enter Doviello lands. The tundra and the mountains are Razorwind Tribe's territory and the border will be respected.
--Malakim civil authorities will pay a 5 gold tribute for 5 turns. Any turn they are unable to make this payment, Razorwind Tribe will instead accept 5000 draftable troops to be used in their forces.

In return for this peaceful agreement, Razor Tribe will:
--Return Golden Leane to Malakim hands with no further damages inflicted, and return to her sovereign territory immediately.
--Allow for a repurchase of slaves earned during the Siege of Golden Leane. For 15 gold per unit of enslaved troops/civilians, they will be returned unharmed.
--Agree to the aforementioned cessation of all further hostilities with the same bindings as the Malakim.

moderator comment:

Unlike Immac's NES, I won't have any godly enforcement of treaties, so beware. Also, I'll let you do the 5000 draftable troop thing, but only for the Doviello since they can take them as slaves. No one else would be able to trust their draftable troops, and any troops they'd create from them would retain the nationality of the original nation (i.e. they'd still take/ask for orders from the homeland first).

EDIT: and by the way, slaves are worth 2500 population - also, I updated the "UPDATE" post. Feel free to take a glance at the new power ranking; there wasn't a huge change, actually.

From Mary:

I needed to move. Need to get away. I can't stay in these hills, I'm barely living, can't find food. All animals avoid and I have no skill in hunting nor do I know what plants I should eat. It's as if Nature has turned against me and wants me dead. Though I can't say I blame it knowing what I am.
...
I left those accursed hills and wandered anywhere could be better than there. Except for the "place" where it happened. No can't think of there or...or ... I may lose it. No remain in control...don't loose it. I found a path leading where I don't know but I believe it goes north.
...
I've walked this path for days maybe weeks, I can't remember, it all blends together into one aching moment. There are few people who walk this path, I pass them all. They seem to instinctively avoid me as if they know there is something wrong. I wonder what happens to them after I pass, where they were heading, where they'll get to before... and if they'll... No you can't let yourself be concerned with their fate or doom, you can't let their lose consume you, your are not to blame... it's not your fault... its "Their" fault and for each one that falls is one more to take vengeance for. You can't let this drag you down you will have vengeance.
...
One day out here, at least I think it took place in a day I saw no one. This was normal there are few who use this path, but then I saw two men. They had a different air about them, a fierceness and a wrongness about them, different than my own, more vicious. I passed them not thinking anything other than my usual struggle to remain sane. When I passed I heard one speak,
"Well hello there. Where are you headed my dear?"
As I turned the man lunged at me and took me to the ground. I was in shock at this sudden attack and at being touched at all, I haven't had anyone touch since...since... Then. No losing control can't fight it now... He's still talking, can only make out bits...
"Very nice, we'll make a nice profit off of you,... but of course we'll have to..."test' you ourselves..."
Can't remember much more,...was losing too much of myself, but at some point he pulled a knife and I think he tried to threatened me. A rage started building in me, I had to get him off me, had to get free, need to punish him for doing this.
I clawed at his face, one of the blows cut his face. he spat at me and I heard him, "Oh you'll pay for that, my dear." he then lifted the knife into the air and was about to strike, but all of a sudden he stopped, the knife fell on the ground. I looked at his face, around the cut, the skin was turning green, rotting, and falling off.
He shouted, through his rotting face, "What... What did you do to me?" He reached for his face, as he let go of me I grabbed the knife and plunged it into him, he coughed blood dripped out of his mouth. I pulled the knife out of him and threw him on the ground.
I don't know what I looked at that moment but by the fear in the other man's eyes I must of appeared as a demon straight from Hell, he took of running of the path.
I ran down the path, knife in my hand, not a thought in my head. I don't know when I stopped but no one was around. I wiped the knife off and hid it on me. I feel that I may need it again.
...
I don't know who found this, if you can help me or not but I want someone to know what happens and why I continue to go on.

The 15g/unit payment is too rich (and not realistic)
Our counter-offer:

You provide us wth our slaves, our towns and our lands. we pay you 45 gold within 6 turns with minimum payments of 5 gold per turn and with 20 in the first turn (as a gestures of goodwill to show you that we are willing to make your nation our first priority and as a thank you for returning our slaves and lands...)

if you drop all gold demands and return our lands and people we will swear vassalage to you and join you in any military adventure you set out on with no expectation of reward or territorial gain. This may be of greater value to you.

what say you razorwind the bloody-handed?

Current due date for character orders looks to be Saturday the 2nd - noon my time. That's 5:00 PM GMT, so do your own conversion after that. That date may change, if people need more time - I know we got started a lot earlier than I'd first planned.

Soon, (after character update) I can plan my orders of world domination.

Oops, thinking loud. :mischief:

I think I currently have orders from four characters: Tyrs, merciary, Kyroshill, and Seon.

Diamond, I'm pretty sure you sent yours, but unfortunately I'm equally sure I deleted them... did you send them by PM? I don't remember. Anyway, if you could maybe email them to me?

Anyone else I forgot/accidentally deleted? sepuku, I sent you a response yesterday.

As it looks, I probably won't get around to updating until at least Sunday, maybe Monday. Thus, I'll extend the deadline a day to Sunday at noon my time. And after this update, I'm probably going to have to call a two-week delay for finals, since I'm not going to have the time to do the update job properly.

Hakan rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

"Very well. Your men and your land shall be returned to you and you shall join the Doviello nation's great horde. Razorwind Tribe accepts the Malakim Tribe.

With a giant grin, the Wind's eyes glinted. "Be ready. We march soon."

"We hereby swear, on the name of the great sun, Lugus, to serve as the vassals of chief Razorwind of the Doviello on the condition that our lands and people be returned to us."

OOC:
what a day of great shame for the malkim... oh well... better that then to be destroyed completely i guess...
