Don't worry Stormrage, if a non-math oriented person like me can learn POV Ray, anyone can. Blobs are fairly simple really, it takes a lot of tinkering to get the precise shape you want, but usually if you just start off with a big sphere and start 'cutting' (more like molding with blobs) from there you can make, honestly, ANYTHING, ie: 90% of the Ragnarok is blobs.

The Dawn Treader's done now, now I've got a Modern Pirate to do, fun!

Yay! Then after the pirate is the Techno Union ship, . BTW, what exactly is the modern pirate going to be? (A ship, an actual pirate, what?)

The request was for a ship (naturally), so it'll be a small, modern (metal) boat with a few guns, rust, black exhaust plumes, the works.

Cool. I just hope it's not a motorboat with three guys with guns on it that attack cruiseships, like the ones on the news, .

Well, that's kinda what modern pirates do, it'll be a big motor boat, but not an all-out ship. And I won't model the people onboard, like all other naval units.

The way I imagined it was no vissible guns on deck-- jusrt when it comes to attack a whole bunch of small arms open up.. maybe a tarp comes off an old howitzer or something and it shoots, too. Or something. Whatever. This was my first unit request, in the first unit request thread, two years ago.

Next step is to get the chassis lowered, maybe fit the thing with some hydraulics.

That's right folks, hydraulics on a boat.

I was wondering about that square myself, I think we should just call it Mr. Square.

Double posting with purpose at least, I've got some decent progress on the Modern Pirate. Now if I don't get it done tomorrow (which I may) there'll be a delay of a few days since I'm going on a trip to New York with my school Thursday-Sunday.
