OT- Safari

heikeott--

the program Safari Enhancer will import bookmarks from all the other browsers for you. You can search on Versiontracker for it -- it worked great for me.

Safari's not too bad; it could use some work though. Chimera is good, but for some reason, on this forum, it flickers a lot

I have to say that I like the look of Safari, but they really must incorporate the tabbed browsing. I guess my initial impression of Chimera was that I really liked the popup blocker function (that seems to be springing up on more browsers) and thought the tabs were a bit gimmicky. Now, I think it's almost totally indispensable. Considering the amount of time I spend on the web for work related research (as well as off-topic stuff like this forum), it definitely speeds things up to tab across several web pages to find the info I need, rather than flipping around a bunch of open windows.

did you knotice that using safari in forums is kinda weird, behavior is... well...wrong... 4 edxample-i have big trouble logging in in all forums(im registered in about6 forums!)

Go to user control panel first and log in, then go to the forums and it should work fine, unless you have cookies blocked or turned off. I use Safari at home and haven't had any trouble. That is to say, it isn't Safari - from my PC at work running IE it does the same thing unless I go and log in first.

Hey, you guys check out this link and see if the page is "off" using Safari on your machine. I don't know whether to report it to Apple or not. Its fine w/ IE.

Works fine for me with Safari, but a few other Apolyton pages don't. I have found very few other sites that Safari has trouble with. What problems there are may be due to the khtml engine which is apparently only used by Safari and Konqueror. I find Safari good enough to use as my default browser as is and I expect the bugs will be ironed out over the next year. :goodjob:

Well, I've not really ran many different browsers besides IE. I took another look at Netscape recently and downloaded Mozilla to check out, but in the few days I've used Safari - I'm SOLD! [pimp] Its nice to finally see the emoticons / smilies working. [dance]

Hmm, my emoticons/smilies have always worked, even before Safari. I had previously used Chimera. Dunno, maybe that was just something with IE?

Yep, Safari is great; it's my default browser as well.
