Ottoman voicing is a bit weird

It's really been getting on my nerves lately. Whenever the Ottomans are in my game, the voicing in the leader screen is not immersive at all and it feels completely noticeable that someone else is speaking and the audio in itself doesn't sound as "soft" as others. It's just the odd one out from all the leaders' voices. Not sure if I made sense.. Does anyone else feel the same way?

As a native speaker, I kind of agree with the OP. His voice has some sort of a reverb or echo that makes it feel unnatural and too raw. The other leaders don't really have this problem.

I also feel it's a little goofy while everyone else says hello when I bring them up Suleiman, who historically awesome, just repeats his name like he's some kind of pokemon.

I have a hunch that that echoing sound is probably supposed to emulate being inside that building that he's in and the noise your voice would probably sound like in it. I am not sure if that is the case, but if that is indeed true, then it is an interesting bit of detail that I'm sure not everyone anticipated. I assume some of the looping ambience for the leaders that are outdoors somewhere is something similar to make it even more 'immersive', rather than to take it away. They did overdo some aspect of Sully's presentation, however.

Just go to Ashurbanipal's Leader screen and you can really see the effect that Ximixanga is describing

As a native speaker, I can confirm that he sounds unnatural and that's not only about the echo effect. I think the voice over artists tried to be comical with the voice but ended up being unrealistic. He sounds like the bad guy in a bad cartoon.

Check out this impression from a professional actor, his speech starts at 0:50 of video.

You're a native speaker of Ottoman Turkish? I'm impressed, were you an educated member of the upper class in late Ottoman society?

Suleiman in the game speaks modern Turkish, not Ottoman Turkish.

I assumed he would, but I'd also assume that they'd make it a bit silly like some others with the use of archaic terms and a funny accent. I can't remember the other examples, but they did apparently do that with a few leaders.

That and George "Washington" Clinton.

It sounds fine to me, maybe it`s a soundcard problem?

What annoys me about the Ottoman Leader is the view. Why is he so high at a sharp angle to me? Am I standing in a ditch? Am I on my knees to him? Am I a child who`s only 2 feet tall? It don`t make sense.

Well as an EXPERT speaker of ancient Babylonian, I am extremely disappointed by Nebuchadnezzar's emotional inflections, accent, and the scarcity of his dialogue in game! It's almost as if the developers are totally ignorant of the language that Babylonians spoke several thousand years ago! They need to spend less of their time balancing the game and coming up with new ideas and more time meticulously researching the complexities of my language! I find this absolutely gamebreaking.

I always thought his voice was rather booming and echoey, but like Ximi I attributed it to the large room he appears to be in. It doesn't break immersion for me IMO.
