Hi!

First of all I want to thank you fot that amazing mod :D
But I have a problem with my multiplayer matches. I would love to use BUG in multiplayer sessions, but every time my wife an I turning it on, we get the 'out of sync' phenomenon. I had these problems before when a friend connected over the internet and we used maps, larger than huge.
But now this is a match over LAN an we both have the same versions of BtS (3.17) and BUG (3.5). The 'out of sync' problem occures pretty accurate after 10 minutes, so it is really annoying.
The first time I saw this, I thought it is a bandwidth problem (as I mentioned above), but in a LAN it is rather implausible.
I was wondering if there is any solution for this problem, because I don't want to play without BUG

btw ... I hate search functions that only allow words with more than 4 letters and no phrases :hammer2:

Edit:
Just now an idea came to my mind. As you can edit the scoreboard with BUG, maybe there is a possibility to take out the OOS notification in the scoreboard and the red writing on the screen?
The strange thing was, that the OOS value of my wifes computer and mine were the same. Also the game didn't freeze, so we were able to play on. Maybe anyone got an idea how to turn of these giant annoying messages?

Out of Sync generally means the game information between the players doesn't match up. This happens if a mod changes state on one PC but not the others. The thing is, BUG doesn't change any game state--or shouldn't anyway.

One possibility is the random number generator, but AFAIK the only place BUG uses it is in the Victory Screen MEMBERS tab, and I'm pretty sure we're doing it correctly there. I haven't tried any multiplayer games unfortunately, so I don't know how I can investigate it.

The first part you should be able to do by removing the "O" code from the Column Layout option in the BUG Options Screen's Scoreboard tab. As for the second part, I'll look into adding an "Ignore OOS Errors" option to BUG.

Tell me about it! I wish I had noticed that before we named our mod BUG.

I'm going to reproduce the error. Maybe it only occures if someone is taking a special action. I also read something about the OOS errors in combination with the random events, so I'm gonna try turning them off. Strange would be, that this error only occured with BUG :crazyeye:
But who knows ... perfidies of technics...

The Scoreboard-Error-Messege-Annoyance-Level isn't that big, but I'm glad to see that this one can be turned off.I really appreciate your effort in adding the "Ignore OOS Errors" option. :worship:

I like the idea to name a Mod BUG :woohoo::D

After many houres of testing, it turned out that the OOS problem was caused by several criteria. I now can ensure that not BUG caused it!
It was caused by a huge map from a myp script and the random events, like I've speculated in my last post. Switching to a default (Continents, Archipelago, etc.) map script or turning of the random events helped, not to go OOS.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help! :worship:

And I would be glad to see a "Ignore OOS Errors" Option in a future version of BUG. It would be, like a small step for a man, but a huge step for the civkind
