Hey,

I know this has been touched on a few times but i find this to be the biggest problem in my early game.

When i first start a new game my first town usally grows to 3 or 4 pop really quick in which case when i go into the town it says i have something like 8 :) and 4  or something like that. I will be starting a new game soon so i can get the exact numbers. If i remeber correctly even when my town hit 2 i think i had 1 unhappy person due to "its to crowded"

now is the only way to stop this early on by putting specialists on ? or putting the city on stop grow option. Also i found when i up the first specilist on in my city it says it should add one more production unit(hammer) but it doesn't show up ?? is this becuase this worker is still mad ? or is that just a glitch ?

Any help on this would be great. Thanks.

You don't need to worry about thay unhappy guy until your number for 'unhappies' is larger than the number for the 'happies'. They might think it's too crowded, but it won't affect your city until you reach the point i mentioned.

Just keep playing, you're doing fine :)

Personally; even in the later difficulties, I like to let my first 3 cities grow to 8-9. Even if it causes alot of unhealthiness, and a little unhappiness. So what if 1-4 people refuse to work? It won't be that way for long once you start jumping up in the tech tree, or more importantly, grabbing the important health/happiness resources for your civilization.

Don't be afraid to turn on the Avoid Growth option. Sometimes having a huge city is a bad thing. Especially if your culture/military presence is weak.

after your city reaches 4+ pop build granary after 8 put down aquduct(sp) after 15 use hospitals, plus trade with other civs for + to happ/health resources.
