Overrated games

what is in your opipion the most overrated game? I think Halo, or Mafia

For me it Metroid Prime, it an alright game but the controls kills it, also don't see what so good about it.

For me, it's the Grand Theft Auto series. I just couldn't get into the idea of stealing cars as a premise for a game...

Repetitive unto the nth degree.

Add to that the Baldurs Gate and Neverwinter Nights...both just hack & slash affaires when all is said and done.

It's not an FPS. It doesn't control like an FPS, nor does it play like one. Which is why I can completely understand why FPS fans wouldn't like the game. Metroid games in general have a knack for repelling people during their first playthroughs as well (at first I hated Metroid Prime, until after my fifth try I suddenly started loving it.)

There is no game more overrated than Diablo 2. Sure, Final Fantasy VII, Halo, and the Sims come close, but Diablo 2 beats them all in this category.

Indeed, one reviewer said he fell asleep in the second half of the game and his party finished the game without him.

Boy, I remember once saying something exactly like that, and then before I knew it ... my CFC account had been blocked!

I must admit, I can think of only one other computer game that I've wanted to return: old SSI's Gettysburg. (Though Shiloh and Chickamauga were quite entertaining.)

You know he's a mod, right? At the Civ II forum.

I'm sure the GTA games have more to them, but whenever I'm at someone's house playing it all they do is get a tank and blow things up or steal cars. From that perspective it looks boring.

Civ or Halo series. I tried my hardest to like civ3, but I just couldnt.

Silent hill 2 is also overrated.
