Paratroopers?

Not that I know of. It is a pretty cool idea though. Something like the airport except with a specific kind of troop and the ability to drop anywhere on the map within a range of a city. Should be possible.
 
I'm quite suprised one hasn't been released yet actually. As with all of these sorts of things, getting the AI to use it properly would be a challenge, though doable.
 
Honestly, I don't think it would be that much of a challenge to get the AI to use it, then of course I haven't seen the AI use the functionality introduced by airports. Does anyone know if the AI does use the transport troops through airports functionality?

Besides that all it would really take is the plot selection code + the action button code to handle the drop paratrooper action. What would really top-off the mod would be a nice animation of a paratrooper dropping into the plot. Any takers?

True - the main problem I can see is co-ordination. You don't want the AI to just drop them because it can. Also, how are you going to keep them in the cities.
 
Man I would love something like this. Paratroopers are the one big unit that we lost from civ3. Every game I play I wish I could get them back.
