Patch 1.52

ok I had the old patch 1.09 installed with hark fix as it was still crashing after install the old patch adding hark fix it worked great not a problem I install the new patch1.52 this morning after getting home from work was playing the game and got this

Your system has run out of video memory. Please trying reducing your video setting.

File:\main\civilization4.bak\SDKS\Gamebey02_0\CoreLibs\NiDX9Renderer\NidX9SourceTextareDate.cpp,Line: 310

now the setting are all the same as before also I have a 256MB Video card seeing as it only needs 64MB I am not getting this,

Does anyone know what is going on here?

Have you tried a clean install since the problem? There is a brief warning about third party fixes in the readme.txt that came with the patch, so perhaps that is where the problem lies.

I got that same problem and i need to know what to do. Ill try the clean install thing and if it works ill post it here . And if it doesnt i need answers. i dont know what to do

Same problem here. It happens after 5 to 10 minutes for me when I have the graphics settings set to high and after about 1 hour when they are set to medium. I have a completely fresh install going straight to 1.52. I have also tried 1 to 1.09 to 1.52 with no success.

I give it go again and it work not a problem. Lift all the settings the same so I have no idea what going also looks like a lot of people have had the same problem, what happen to this patch been the one to fix it all.

I can't see why they just didn't do more testing before shipping it I would have been happer to wait a month then have it not working so you have to wait for a patch anyway

ok I think I many had find something when I was playing it before and it die it was a saved game from 1.09 and when I had no problem it was with a new game. I just went back to the 1.09 game and it did it again so I think you can't play game saved from the 1.09 patch

No, not always. I finished my 1.09 game with the 1.52 patch and it worked just fine. While that may be the issue sometimes, it's definitely not the issue in all cases.

Ok, I have the same problem. Was able to play (on 1.52) for several hours on high graphics levels on a huge map before getting hosed with this message last night. I have no 3rd party fixes, did a clean install recently..and am running an 'above spec' machine with an ATI 9600 256meg.
No way am I going back to 1.09, as I CTD'd every 10-20 minutes. This must be a fairly common issue as I see at least one other thread about it in here.

I wasn't saying its a problem all the time just saying I haven't got it playing a game started in 1.52.

They are going to have to do something the number of problems, they are beyond a joke
