I have read in several other forums about this problem. Using Vista 64 and have deleted the installshield folder as recommended. Only problem is parts that were in this folder are still showing up and are still being detected even though they aren't there. Also still recieving this error during patch installation. This is occuring for both civ4 and preventing me from installing BtS.

Have also done several manual installs from other sites.

Any help is appreciated.

Well, vista can be a prissy brat sometimes, it's the reason I can't mod!

Which patch? The patch and BTS installed fine with McAffe antivirus (don't recommend). If install shield is the problem and some folders remain, I'm sorry to say the only help I can give you is:

1:Look at the hidden files. There's probablly some in it.
2:Sadly, I don't know what installshield is, but maybe that wasn't the case, and you NEED it.
3:Revert back to XP?

I have read that this is the solution in several other threads. Is there a way that I can do a clean sweep of these files to fix this problem?

Right click, select properties, and check the box hidden in the folder you suscpect has remnants of installshield. If there are still any hidden files there, you'll know be availible to delete them.

P.S:You should always make a backup, even if it's reccommended.

Well I figured it out and have run into a worse problem. The XML isn't working and upon attempt to uninstall Civ4 vanilla. The Setup.exe encounters a problem and closes (almost word for word). I tried going in and deleting the key but I am not seeing the same key as in the other thread.
