patch v.1.22: aggressive Bombers

It's been now two weeks since I installed v.1.22. Yesterday I lost five Armies in about 8 or 10 turns, I was freakin'. This was due to a group of AI bombers that just kept overflying my Armies and bombing them. Then, AI units, (even cavalry for God's sake) were killing off my three tank armies which were redlined with only a few hp's. This had never happened to me before. It was such an aggressive bombing. And the "peaceful" Indians only had like 14 bombers in all. This forces me to adopt another approach. Since when is this happening? Or was I just unlucky?
 
In conquest the AI players DO use planes and bombers and ships.
You should have used air superiority :D. The AI isn't Army friendly anymore :P

Only when it has an ace up its sleeve or your HPs are way down. :p
 
I find the AI's use of bombers inconsistent. Sometimes they send a dozen bombers to bomb the heck out of me, other times I capture a city only to discover there are bunch of bombers in the city the AI never bothered to use. Still, if I know a civ has bombers I will usually have a few flak or moblie sam's go along with my units to protect them.

I know what you mean.

If the AI is strong, I tend to put my bombers one city back from my front line cities; so that if the AI overruns my front line city; I don't have that run over by tanks.

But the AI frequently puts its bombers too far forward in lightly defended
border or island small cities that can be over-run by my marines or tanks.
