Patches!?

OK, call me a complete and utter moron, but I didn't know Civ IV had patches... and now that I've read some of Snaaty's works, I want in.

How do you download patches? And what is 'BTS' and Warlords? If they're also expansions, how do I buy them?

I'd appreciate any responses.

download the patches from the downloads database here - for civ4 the best way to do would be to install the following thee files in the order I post them:

1.61
1.74
DirectX update

Warlords is the first expansion pack for Civ4
Beyond the Sword is the second expansion pack for Civ4 - it includes all the Warlords stuff except some scenarios
You can buy it pretty much anywhere though it is possible that some shops don't stock it anymore since Complete Edition has been released which includes all 3 plus Colonization which is a stand alone game using much of the Civ4 engine. If you buy BtS (or Warlords) make sure to do so in the same format as your core game - i.e. if Civ4 is a cd/dvd version buy a cd version of Warlords/BtS - if yours is a digital (i.e. downloaded) one buy the expansion from the same vendor as you bought Civ4 from.
