city states can no longer build national college, so instead of a 10 size CS giving you 10 science with library + nc, they'll now just have a library and give you 3.75 science.

Patronage will no longer be viable to maintain research parity. So you need more home-grown research and RAs.

I wondered what was going on in my game last night, I thought 33% to 25% can't be making that much difference. I was allied with as many CS as possible purely for the Science, I was even refusing the free military units. Perhaps I should have read the patch notes more thoroughly! Every path I look at to play One City Challenges seem to be blocked.
 
One-city challenge as Siam, 64 pop at 1940 and Egypt and France builds the Apollo Program within 2 turns. And they are BIG and FAR away. Why did I chose Prince for this challenge? Smack forehead!

I noticed the dropdown in science as soon as it hit, it doesn't matter though. They (cs) still build pikes and rubbish, instead of mechs, where I am. AI have rifles and stuff, but I have Mechs!!! In 15 turns I have MA (modern armors), why on earth doesn't my CS's upgrade their stuff?

And now over how to figure out how to play to end of game, without them sending themselves to space. I played this to get the biggest city ever, but I'm in a hamstring right now...

I can make a 100pop city before end of time.

Did CS really build NC before? Had no clue about that!
 
Well that kinda sucks. I hadn't thought that Patronage was in need of much of a nerf. Makes it harder for smaller empires, I guess.
