I don't blame him...the city was undefended and I would have taken it myself...not necessarily after I promised not to, but nevertheless it was a good Civ move and part of the game. Just means that if Greece survives the war there will be a long and bitter hatred between the Greek and Aztec people for the remainder of the game!!!

seems to me the "disobedient troops" thing, someone came up with it and used it once and then a slew of early warmongerers decided to copy it
As far as our not having contact, I could be wrong, since we do have contact now, but I believe I checked my diplomacy screen that turn and did not have contact.

NEWS: mighty Aztecs captured and razed second Greek city. of course first we had kidnapped buildings, set fire to women and raped cattle... or something like that.
it's common knowledge that Greek stuff should stand the test of time... that's not true! Athens (for many years Greek capital city) collapsed after only a small earthquake.
