NEWS: my disobedient troops caused a small war, capturing one of the biggest cities in the world...

Mendax

Just to let everyone know that this comes after Mendax "promised" he was only "scouting." Too bad, I had a tribal gaurdsman coming in 1 turn there...

BK

By the way, game received and will play in a few minutes...

hmmm, Mendax is noted as not entirely trustworthy. He asked me where I was located and gave me a hint about his location with the last turn (despite our not having contact) glad i declined to discuss my location.

I don't blame him...the city was undefended and I would have taken it myself...not necessarily after I promised not to, but nevertheless it was a good Civ move and part of the game. Just means that if Greece survives the war there will be a long and bitter hatred between the Greek and Aztec people for the remainder of the game!!!

Mendax

seems to me the "disobedient troops" thing, someone came up with it and used it once and then a slew of early warmongerers decided to copy it

As far as our not having contact, I could be wrong, since we do have contact now, but I believe I checked my diplomacy screen that turn and did not have contact.

GPS to Platon...

Mendax...I will offer peace as soon as I regain and firmly control all of my previously held territory. If you want to hand it back over I will pay you 2 gpt for 20 turns...

NEWS: mighty Aztecs captured and razed second Greek city. of course first we had kidnapped buildings, set fire to women and raped cattle... or something like that ;).

it's common knowledge that Greek stuff should stand the test of time... that's not true! Athens (for many years Greek capital city) collapsed after only a small earthquake.
______

BK: your offer is unacceptable - both your cities were destroyed.

Platon: are you still with us;)? we have no news from you...
______

i first used "disobiedent troops" some 10-12 years ago, playing in a "special" (hotseat) version of Civ1 ... so i couldn't have copy that...
______

i might not be able to make a turn tommorrow (Monday).

My troops are looking around for anothers civs but they are founding wild barbs standing on their way. We met only a troops of wise leader Predesad.

I offer a tech and perhaps some gold to the Aztecs and will be a "puppet" state for quite sometime if mercy is shown...
