I have an idea for a PBEM game, and wonder if anyone would be interested. I will call this PBEM Squared or PBEM Cubed. The idea will overcome the issue that you only get to play one turn, before sending it off to the next player. What if a group of players had two or three games running concurrently? Every time you play, you would get two or three turns (of a different games). Is anyone interested??

I'm interested. If we could make this somewhat different games (map type and/or each person has different civs) it'd also make it more interesting.

My vote would be that you cannot play the same type of civ, i.e., no miltaristic relegious and that we vary the maps as mentioned above.

I'd play, but the two of you are already in games i play in, and both of those go through lag periods... why would this be different?

Every time you send a email it has two or three games attached to it, so you get to play more turns.

IC... well, i suppose that would make a sort of sense... I'm up for whatever :) As long as people can not get worked up over what happens in one game and carry it over into the next!

If you want a fresh face... (just got PTW yesterday)...Iwould like to also join.

I can play up to emporer level
Any Civ/map/settings will be fine

Looks like we have enough people to get this game going, is everyone still intrested?? Let me know.

well, it appears borealis will remain in town the next few days so we can figure out which options we want... do you wanna do just all random on each? or shall we pick 3 distinct or what? I'm fairly ambivilent, although i wouldn't mind picking civs.

I haven't played a PBEM game but would like to try and this sounds like a good idea. I would like to join if you have room. I would prefer Monarch or Regent on a standard map.

Some ideas for possible parameters:

Let's pick three distinct civs, with different traits- have no more than two civs with the same trait, and no civs with the same trait as the other civ. For example, you wouldn't play as France and Carthage, and you wouldn't play all industrious civs. This will give us variety and the chance to use different approaches in multiplayer while we wait for the patch.

Any ratio of land/rainfall/rockiness/age works for me. I'd like to play on a standard size map, to cut down on the risk of having two capitals right next to each other, and barbarians at roaming. PTW barbarians are much smarter than vanilla Civ3 'suicide' barbarians.

Regent level seems to be a good standard for MP at this point for most people, especially if we play games with AI opponents as well.

If we're calling civs, I'd like to play at least one game as the Ottomans. Otherwise, I'll take whatever's leftover in the other games- everyone should probably get a first choice of a particular civ in each game, if they like, and then we can all fill in the details.

I would like to play with one of the new civs for at least one of the games but anything else works fine except maybe England, too many games playing as them.

I like the idea of picking three different civs with different traits. Turn order would be the same for each game. We can set each of the games up through a random selection process, I just need to know what three civs you prefer. I would say a small map with two AI civs at regent; landform, climate, etc.. would all be random.

Now if you are still intrested, post with your three choices and and email, and I will generate the games.

You should have my email from other games, i'll play:

Greece
Scandinavia
India/Spain

I am going to make the games up, the order will be:

Hobbes
Quillan
Borealis
Hotrod

Here is the tenative schedule

Game-----Hobbes-----Quillan-----Borelais------Hotrod
1----------Ottomans---Scand------India--------- China
2----------Carth------- Greece-----Ottomans----Spain
3----------Japs---------Spain-------American-----Arabs

The maps will be small with two AI opponents. All map features will be random.

Quillan you are up. The maps are all small, with two random AI opponents, roaming barbs, monarch level. Everything else is random.
