We need to decide as a team which kind we would like. I personally like PBEM, but thats because i don't know much about PITBOSS. Discuss. Every vote counts!!
I'm playing in one PBEM and one PITBOSS now. The beauty of PITBOSS is you can play simultaneous turns with say a 48 hour clock, and instead of waiting 24 hours per team it's 48 hours per turn. Just need someone who can host the game continuously (an admin), and only one team member can login at a time. BTW if you want to see how the PITBOSS game runs, follow the "evolutionary" link in my sig and then check out the Realpolitik subforum. I'm on the German team if you want to join me.
I posted this in the poll thread too... Maybe we should startup a pitboss game within the team to see how it goes. That way we don't vote against something just because we haven't tried it.
I'm up for a pitboss game. DS, did you mean to post about the game in the general multiteam forum?
Anyway, following your suggestion, I would like to play as Saladin
EDIT
Forgot about the map preference. I'd like to play a pangea or lakes map. Nothing too big because I imagine we want to make this a somewhat short game.
The pitboss game is now live. I just generated a 18 player all random game, and anyone who wants to join can just pop in there and grab any available civ, first come first served. Put in your password and you've got the civ reserved, unless you get kicked for not showing up often enough.
Launch Civ4
Multi Player
Direct IP
on the top of the popup screen put your user name
on the right half of the screen put this IP and no password.
68.63.190.187
Choose your civ, enter a password, and play your turn. Once you hit enter you can leave the game (to main menu or desktop) or leave it running, your choice. It's on simultaneous turns and a 48 hour turn timer, just to give us all a view of what it would be like to go all around the play order every 2 days.
