[PC 1.2.0 1120661 DX11] Game crashes almost every time I load a save or start a new game

When I launch the game, I see a little pop up of the firaxis crash reporter, but it loads and gets to the main menu anyway. Then when I try to start a new game, or load any save, there is probably a 90% chance it crashes during the loading (sometimes fast, sometimes slow). I've verified my cache. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I have no mods on (and never have). My specs are more than sufficient and I've been playing without issue for weeks - this just started a day or two ago. What can I do to diagnose? I don't see anything obvious in the logs, but I don't really know what I'm looking for.

I got the new Legal Arbitration agreement pop up today & now I cannot play Civ 7. It always locks up, with or without mods. New game, load game, can't get it to play. It locks in the first 90 seconds. Hope someone can give advice. I tried the advice I found Reddit to delete the legal cache, but that prevents the game from playing.

I already spoke to the OP in another thread, but I recommend verifying files through steam, and if that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall.

That sucks. You're not alone though so hopefully they get a hotfix soon. Oh also try switching to Vulkan if you're using DirectX or vice versa.

Reporting back... verifying and reinstalling didn't fix anything. Changing from DX to Vulcan didn't fix anything. But... changing back from Vulcan to DX seems to have reduced the frequency of crashes substantially??? Heck if I know.
