Did anyone see the issue of the top 50 games of all time? Civ II came in second to Deusx, Pretty impressive consider the age of the game. I think Civ III will make a run at the video game with the most sales of all time!

It should have been #1 ;)

We'll see about Civ3.Its a tough job to unseat a classic. Its looks good though....cept for multiplay thing.

If they are smart and I hope they are all they need to do is build and expand apon civ II. We all agree civ II is the greates game so as long as they keep that in mind civ 3 should be awsome.

Civ I (which I don't play, but do have) and Civ II are great not only because we like them and of the sales, but because of the enormous impact on the PC gaming world. Almost all PC games of thought and strategy are rooted in and/or influenced by Civ/Civ II, to some extent.

I agree, Civ II was a major stepping-stone in the strategy genre, look at all the games, which came after civ II. It broke new ground and showed other game companies what people are looking for in a strategy game. Many have tried but have not came close to the appeal of CIV II. Age of Empires, war craft, Red alert, settlers all have their roots based on Civ with twists of their own. Civ II impact will be felt for years to come. This web site is a testament to its greatness. It set the standard. As far as reaching top sales of all time, it would be nice for a game we all enjoy so much to hold that coveted spot. If it does not I will still enjoy it nonetheless.
