never owned a SNES, but If I had the opportunity (and the money) I'd definetly get both

eBay is your friend . There is bound to be an SNES console and a Civ1 for SNES cartrage somewhere on eBay.

Played Civ 1 on the Amiga and the SNES. And Civ 2 on a Pentium P90 running Windows 95.
That was the the best IMO.

I like the Dos version best. Not sure really how to rate graphics between the 2, but overall speed and flexibility is better in the Dos version, in my opinion of course.
