PCIX: Saladin

Oh so you've gotten into using the term NSC as well?

Funny.

.

Funny is right.

Although the reality remains that there is a difference between picking settings to make things easier deliberately and cheating. Might as well accuse him of a difficulty cheat :p.

But I understand what he means too, since you can get away with a wide array of different things @ different speeds.

I feel that the convo is somehow wrapped among me... :mischief:

If you are talking about the save I followed the guide. Since there were no specific requests and just to read the guide in your sig, that is exactly what I did. I really just want to make a decent series here. Could you list some specific requests please? :)

I was taking a good-natured jab at obsolete, not you .

It was an easy game but sometimes the RNG does that w/o any editing at all.

Oh... Sorry. In the past games, my saves were single player and bad screenshots plus crude spelling makes me alert of such things if they are complaints. Sorry.

;)

No, I'm impressed by your progress and while there's still a kink here and there I like this series (I've said so once or twice in live stream as well ;)).

Thank you. Did you ever put the PC Qin live stream back into view? I'd like to watch it if you ever get the chance to fix it.

The games I stream that aren't put on demand are lost forever .

That's too bad but thanks for your compliment. You havent been streaming lately, maybe you could try this one if you want.

Since I saw this, and have been meaning to try Prince, I decided to make this my first prince game.
Prince/Epic
1325 BC

Spoiler :
I settled in place, and explored around. Alex is right next to me to the north. I also meet Hatty, and Augustus. I I figured Alex was against the coast, so I decided to settle cities to block him out. My suspicions were confirmed based on where he settled Sparta. You can't see it in the screenshot, but it's right next to the dotmap in the top right corner.

I dotmapped out the areas I explored. If anyone could give me input one these locations that would be a big help.

civ4screenshot0007.jpg

With my current cities, I intend to make my capital a production city, and Cottage up Medina. The one on the right I kinda just settled to claim land and resources, but I'll do something with it.

I'm in... I rarely play saladin, don't think I've ever completed a game with him, so here goes.

2225bc - Emporer/Epic (or speed cheat I guess )

Spoiler :
Moved the warrior south revealed no extra resources, decided to move the settler 1 north and settle on the river.

PCXIV_GROO_001.jpg

Techpath - Aggriculture > Animal Husb > Mining > Bronzeworking

Build - Warrior > Worker > Warrior > Settler > Worker > Warrior

Huts - 76 gold, Scout, XP.

Lost 2 warriors & a scout during my initial exploration  seems we have a lot of land to expand into so I've decided against a rush and going for peaceful expansion (even though the AI didn't start with archery ).

It's fairly easy to block Perry from the west with my first two cities but I need to explore to the south east to see if I want to expand in that direction next. Tech wise I'm going writing next then probably aesthetics for tech trades.

Hmmm... All my cities appear to be commerce cities! opps! Settled medina in a less than desirable location but three food resources will atleast allow it to take advantage of the madrassa. Red is next to complete the block.

Monarch/epic 1816AD conquest:

Spoiler :

I decided to "block" Pericles with a dozen chariots  so I settled the horses first. After that I settled cities towards Hattie and JC, blocking off a huge amount of land. All three of us were in the same religion, so once the economy was straightened out I took steel from lib, Hattie voluntarily vassaled, I wiped JC off the map with cav/rifles/cannon. I quickly capped the other continent: Mao (3 cities), Ragnar (2 cities), Cyrus (no cities  ).

I'm in.

Thoughts: Probably settle in place after moving the warrior 1S.

Question: Is this PC IX or XIV (the thread title and save game say two different things)?

@ CivIVMonger - Thanks for putting this together, and posting it on Christmas day no less.

Update - 375bc - Emporer/Epic

Spoiler :
I've been getting some serious trouble with barbs with all this empty land to the west and south east, although thankfully with the AI's not starting with archery I've managed to get away with warriors to start with. Soon as I hooked up horses and pumped some chariots out to deal with it loads of spears started pouring into my empire :( had to settle a city to claim the copper to the east just so I could get some axes online.

I've settle four cities, should be more by now but the barbs have slowed me down, looking to the east there are some nice sites on the southern coast so I'm going to try and claim those first then start backfilling.

PCXI_GROO_101.jpg

Techwise this round is was just... Fishing > Pottery > Writing > Aesthetics... With aesthetics in I check out the trade situation and...

PCXI_GROO_102.jpg

Great! Hurry up and tech Alphabet! I really need Ironworking Asap so might have to self research it. I have a Great scientist due in 5 turns probably for an acadamy in the capital which is cottaging up nicely.
