PCXI: Charlemagne

The bullpen has been updated for this series. I am just saying because I don't know if anyone unsubscribed or some newer players to the series never did. It hasn't been posted on in so long that I don't think anyone would find it unless they were specifically looking for it. Not advertizing, but if you want to get an updated look, the bullpen *is* there.

Oh maan, and I still havent finished my sitting bull run, I still wanna give this a try

CivIVmonger you should put the bullpen link in your sig. That makes it a lot handier for people to access.

And about medievial warfare. It's very much a close proximity type warfare, and something that shouldn't be carried on for several years

It is unfair, they should really buff serfdom, giving like a food or hammer bonus instead of 'Workers build improvements 50% faster'. Oh wow, it's not like there's a UU AND a wonder that completely negates that effect, no not at all. They gave caste system the +1 workshop bonus, why not give more food yield from farms or higher chance of great general emergence or higher EP production? Anything, it doesn't have to be historically relevant

Oh yes! I will defenately put it in my sig. Thanks for the reminder! And, I feel the same way about Serfdom. It has always been the little guy and I find myself only running it when I am *extremely* short on workers or have just finished a massive REX. It really should benefit in another way but I think workshop/farm yield is over powered.

Not a hard map at all. I definitely made quite a few mistakes, but still won easily. Or, would have if I hadn't gotten bored of being so far ahead.

Spoiler :
I was at 0% science for a good chunk of the game, surviving off of specialists. There where quite a few good production sites, so I crushed Pacal and Elizabeth (not in that order), building wealth once I had enough units to avoid strike This in fact did NOT get me to break even at 0% science, but the stolen gold gave me plenty of time to fix things. Eventually managed to get COL and it was all too easy from there.

All the fighting was done pre-gunpowder and I never got archery, so protective did nothing.

The Rathaus is definitely the best aspect of holy Rome. Kinda wish I had tried corporations there, since state property was severely nerfed by the super courthouses.
