Ok I got the blue screen of death now.

The problem is with file: nv4_disp.dll

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

that's the nvidia graphics driver there.
you should get a better video card, i can recommend the (now) budget radeon 9500 pro or 9800 pro, the game works well on both cards here.

more RAM, too, if you can :)

Ah I see. Thank you! :)

I want to stick to Nvidia video cards since that's what it's worked best for me. :) But I'll check out the Radeon 9500 and 9800 anyway. ;) Thanks.

I'll get more RAM and better video card.

So it looks like I don't need to upgrade CPU? Which is probably a good thing because I don't want to get a new motherboard.

the PRO versions, not regular, and 128 mb versions of either, 256 is counterproductive on these cards.

Athlon 64 3000+, 1 Go RAM, Radeon x800 XT, absolutely no problem here.

Socket 754 A64 2800+
1 GB Corsair ValueRam (cas 2.5)
MSI 9800 pro 128MB (really a 9800XT core, detects as 128MB XT)

I get a little chugging on huge maps from the enemy civs thinking, later game. Perfect the rest of the time.

Refurb 9800pros are like $80-$100, best bang/buck next to a 6600GT at $150 or so.

Been playing the game for 30 hours straight, only one CTD which came from me alt-tabbing out to windows in a stupid manner... I've got all settings on High, with 4x AA.

I'm on a fairly new computer which I bought to ensure that I don't have to upgrade/buy a new one anytime soon.

Intel P4 3,0 Ghz 64bit with HT and 2mb L1 cache
1 Gb Corsair DDR2-533 MHz RAM
GeForce Fx 6600 GT

Absolutely no problems here, and I thought I would with all the negative early ATI posts. By the way I love the game and can't wait for all the mods.

System: Pentuim 4 (3.4 Ghz), 1024 RAM, XP sp. 2, ATI Radeon x300 128mb video card (I know the card is cheap but all settings are on high and it is great!!!) Must be the good processor and lots of RAM that helps.....

Works fine for me I have a GF 6600GT 512Mb RAM 2.4ghz P4

only thing that has happened is that once I have been playing for a number of hours it starts to slow down. I think it's from that memory leak problem and since I dont have alot of RAM to make up for it. it just lags not a problem tho just restart the computer when it starts to get bad. hope patch comes out soon. oh ya and everything is on high.
