I'm curious to how much you guys care about where I host the next Afforess's Modmod pack and A.N.D, as both are going to exceed CFC's 10mb limit.

If other, please specify.

Also, please note, if I go with bittorrent, I will need everyone that CAN to seed. Especially those that get the A.N.D Full version, as it is 1gb, compressed. I have limited bandwidth, so I doubt I can seed for more than a day or two after release.

Promised. You give so much to the users, I am glad I can give something back.

Torrent all the way. I find it much faster for some reason (when seeded) than regular download sites. I prefer you NOT to use filefront as their new rules for download/uploading really restrict user friendliness. So if it comes that you can't torrent it, use Megaupload.

Mmm, well, I would seed RoM and your modmod pack for 1000% ratio.
I've actually uploaded 3 torrents now and found that they didn't stop growing after I stopped seeding. So the survivability of the torrent would be guaranteed if some seeders are willing to seed till high ratio's.

Oh, I have no clue about what A.N.D. is.

I would probably need a backup slow mirror in case the torrent went bad.

A.N.D = A New Dawn. It was/ and will be a huge modmod pack, with EVERY modmod made to date in it, by any modmoder, installer form, like mine. Made by me, of course.

I would be happy to seed 24/7, indefinitely, and have no upload caps. probably a better use of my upstream than some of the 'other' content I seed :)

I have some fat upload pipes (I seed torrents at 300kB/sec), and I am very much willing to distribute Afforess modmod compilations via Bittorrent.

Torrents being used for something legal?

Yeah, I know, so strange! :p

Sounds promising!

I don't think a backup would be needed since it's an ongoing project with updates.
Once there is an update just create a new torrent and it will be alive for a good amount of time.

If someone want to seed the torrent, i choose torrent
Filefront is ok for me.
But NO ATOMIC GAMER PLEASE!!!

Nb:If the file size is less than 100mb(i highly doubt it anyway), try mediafire

In my experience StrategyInformer.com and ModDB.com both work well. They've never had corrupted files end up in the download, never had a complaint about them being blocked by overzealous malware software (like filefront can be), they have always had fast upload and download speeds, and they don't bombard the user with obnoxious adds. The one flaw of course is that since they are dedicated mod distributers they do check the file to make sure it's safe, which ends up taking anywhere from an hour to a day from when I upload the file to when it's aproved and can be downloaded by other users.

Torrents are really only good if you have 50+ seeders, in which case they would probably be he best way to distribute a file, bar none (but you have to a have pretty popular file to have 50+ stable seeds). The other main file hosters I use, but I always have problems with (atomic gamer, filefront, megaupload, etc.), I'm not a fan of them, but if I don't want to wait for moddb, or strategyinformer to aprove the file I use them, invariably though the file ends up corrupted or some other annoying thing when I do (though atomic gamer is pretty reliable, they just have that damned 5 minute delay thing).

Thanks for the suggestions. This time around, I will probably use a torrent and regular slow file hoster, and see which one get's used more.
