My Mongol Keshik was farming XP 3 tiles away from a Persian city by range attack 3 hexes away twice a round (logistics) when out of a blue, a Persian longswordman that completed build rush out from the city and killed my Keshik after I end the turn!
How could that happen?! The movement max for foot infantry is only 2, not 3.

As I did save before I end, I reload and the exact thing happen. This Persian unit cover three tiles over tundra (no roads) to kill my Keshik which is on Persian side of the border. I retested by putting a Great general three tiles away from Keshik original position. The same Persian unit killed my Keshik and after I pass turn again, the unit went on to kill of my Great General moving over differnt set of bare tundra tiles.

However when I pass turn with the Keshik standing 3 tiles away but on Mongol side of the border, the Longswordman did not rush out for the kill but stay put as garrison in the city.

What is going on? Is it a bug?

How do you capture screen in Civ V btw? PrtScn key?

Persia was in an Golden Age. That's one of their traits: +1 movement during a GA.

Edit: and *I* was to slow....

That is the power of the persian golden age.
It is one of the best UAs in the game.
it gives +50% golden age length, + 1 movement on all units and +10% combat strength.

Definatly a civ that is much stronger in a human players hands, where they will often time a golden age for this very purpose. Persia is one of the few civs who might go after great artists, since it is the great person that comes the earliest.

It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperilled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperilled in every single battle. Sun Tzu

Your example is a testament to Sun Tzu's wisdom!

Holycow, looks like I learnt the hard way. There goes my 250+ XP Keshik, have to accept the lost since I tell myself not to reload.

If you hit print screen, the game stores screenshots, but they're in an awkward format. I usually hit print screen of the screenshots and then paste that into paint.

They are in Targa (*.tga) format. If you install the (free) ImageMagick program, you can convert them to anything else you want using the "mogrify" command.
