Peter the Great of Russia

I just post the corrected files ;-)

The old ones had black squares around the round leaderpics in the diplomacy screen. Those should do the trick (Ramses and Peter in one pack).

I think the problem was an interference between the black (transparent) color between the "bubbles". Civ either ignored the transparency or accepted it. In the last case, the black color in the Leaderheads went transparent, too (Ramses' beard, for example), and ruined the appearance. I avoided this by choosing pink as transparent color.

So you say I can use ANY colour for the transparence colour? In that case, that would avoid some problems which may arise in some leaderheads (Vlad for example, as the frames are too dark, so there's a lot of black colour in them)

I wouldn't put an oath on that. Try the pink color like in Civ3/Art/Cursor.pcx, this works very well.

So it should be in the last position of the palette to work?
That is the way it works for me. Except in photoshop, it is not the last position but the first. I think Photoshop displays the palette backwards.

Do you know how it's displayed on Corel Photo Paint?
Download one of the civilopedia icons I did for PTW, I know they all have position 1 set to ff00ff and position 2 to 00ff00, which is magenta and bright green. In photoshop this is position 1 & 2. I most other programs these are the last two positions. You could see where those colors show up in your paint program. In some of my older items I used whatever color in that palette position and just knew to not draw with that color.
I recently bought Paint Shop Pro off ebay (to get Animation Shop). I read somewhere that Corel photo paint was based off PaintShop, do you know if this is true? If it is, I can install Paintshop and have a look for you... otherwise I don't have access Corel Paint and so I can't answer your question more accurately.

Don't worry. I just realized I can find out by myself in which position I should place the transparent colour, just by opening any Civ file

Here are the cultB.pcx, they needed to be fixed as well:
