Phone doesn't like frame rate

I have a Samsung Messenger Touch phone. In spoilers at the bottom is Samsung's webpage for the phone talking about supported video formats. I am trying to transfer a small video I downloaded off of Youtube to my phone. I can tranfer it just fine but my phone won't play it. I looked at the video's properties and and the phone's supported video formats and the only difference I can find it that the video has a 14 frames/sec frame rate and my phone's only supported frame rate is 30fps. How do I change the video's frame rate to 30fps? Thanks

You can't do that without messing up things, really. Its a big problem with NTSC and PAL.

Couldn't I change the framerate and then add duplicate frames to fill up the extra frames? I mean, when converting a 15fps to a 30fps video, one would just have to have each frame be shown twice and then change the audio to match. Couldn't something like that work for this? You wouldn't be perfect but you would be close.

You'd probably get a lot of jerkiness if you did that.

It could be a matter of the video being encoded with a codec that your phone doesn't support

Doesnt YouTube use a standard format? Unless you use one of those junky programs that encodes it so it's all blocky.

I believe Youtube encodes it's videos with H.264, so if your phone does not support that, you're out of luck. It might also just be having issues with the resolution, although without the specific details, I really can't say much more than that.

Try running it through MediaInfo. Display it in text view as thats easiest to copy and paste.

I used YouTube Downloader. I got it from cnet

Run the file through MediaInfo. Paste the results.

Youtube Downloader was able to convert the file into a format my phone could read. Thanks for the help anyways
