I am the same way about roads. I even try to build them so that the bridges are always in line. I hate the tile on the outside corner to a river bend. The road graphic they use on has a road that just goes down into the river and lookes kinda ********.
When invading the computer that does road every tile, I take the cities I want without worrying about pillaging. Then when the war is over and my empire is at peace I save, cover the minimap with a post-it, go into worldbuilder and delete all roads I do not want. Then I return to game. Maybe save again after its done. It is a hassle and I see no reason it should not be in.
A farm costs 15 turns base to build. Building something over it costs nothing extra for demolishing costs. Yet, if you accidentally pillage it by clicking the wrong button, it takes 15 turns to fix that screw up.
A road costs 6 turns base to build. Building a rail over it costs nothing extra for demolishing costs. If you could accidentally pillage this, it only takes 6 turns to fix.
So to me that suggests it was not put in to save you from accidentally pillaging it. (Like a safety feature.) That's the same irony as dying in a car crash because my air bag was on for me IMO.
I will have to get that mod that allows it. I wasn't sure if anyone had made something for that or not. Thanks.
