I can't. The game won't let me. As you can see from my save, I have an army on the Egyptian iron, but I can't pillage it?

Vanilla 1.29.

I know armies can't pillage in PTW, I would *guess* the same would be true in Vanilla....

 I never knew that!

What am I going to do with that army stuck in the middle of nowhere?

hehe - Uh, kill something? :hammer:

This isn't like in conquests where you could do that. It is a swordsmen army right next to cities with pikes in them... on Deity. I guess I'll get it killed and build a Rider army.

(By the way, that save is of an AWD game going pretty well ;))

Completely off-topic, but why don't you pay in SG's? You are obviously capable of participating in even the more difficult games that are going on down there....

Good luck with the AWD! :)

...because:

a) Can't find a vanilla game
b) "pretty well" is not as good as it seems

And scoutsout had asked me the same question.

Also, I really don't think I can win this. Help is good though.

I can't currently find my Vanilla disc, so I can't see what's going on there. (not that I'm necessarily qualified to help anyhow...)

Generic solution: Lots of defense and arty. Strangely, offensive units aren't as valuable as one might expect. The two important things? Holding your cities, and a very favorable kill ratio. As I said, generic, and I'm sure you knew them anyhow.

Not so generic help: put a pike or something under that army for the pillaging.

"pretty well"? You have survived to the Medieval age, I'd say that's darn good. Considering everything costs twice as much (?) for you, you seem to be holding your own.

Re: SG's
Vanilla games are rare, but I bet if you started one, you could get people to join....
C3C is a great buy, but I won't pretend to know if you are in a situation to buy it
Scout already asked? Great minds think alike, eh? :p

Well, umm... I lost. Not yet, but I just lost what is effectively half of my production. As of 360AD, my entire military consisted of 8 Pikes, 6 cats, 5 swords, and 3 riders, all in an army. (to cover 5 cities)

Re: The pillaging thing
I'll try a Rider next time. I'll be using China.

I wonder what it will be like if I don't use a Tiny map?

As for C3C, it is a matter of my parents thinking that I spend too much time in front of the computer. :p

(Do you realize that it would have been better if all this was a series of PMs?)
