Pirate Scenario? Community Project?

I am wondering if there is a (or more than one) scenarios where you get to build a pirate empire and raid ships for a living? I'm thinking something like the Hammer of the North scenario.

If there isn't one or more already, it would be cool to finally do that community project and make one.

There's Age of Piracy, versions 1.0 and 2.0 by Shay Yates Roberts... The original was a rather revolutionary scenario, for its age. It was made for CiC. Version 2.0 was made for MGE, so I never played that.

Does Mr. Roberts require a password on this scenario, too? You needed to email him to get one for opening the Sacrificial Blood zip.

AFAIK Nope.

I read the entire manual and it said nothing about a password.

I havn't installed it yet as I am sick. Which realy sucks as I am way behind in my homework now.

I played it a bit, and I'm sorry to say it didn't do it for me. If you liked "Hammer of the North", you could try "The Spanish Armada" - which sortof has its privateering bits, where you get to chase Spanish Galleons, which is quite fun IMO. It is still set on a Western Europe map, though.

Anyway, it may give you some inspiration for your own project

One idea I had was reruiting different types of pirates (units) and using them as "crew" for transport-type ships.... for example: spanish officer, spanish sailor, british pirate, indian etc... kind of like "Colonisation" Civ scenaro. However with popularity of Civ2 I dont think it will ever be done.

The problem with Civ2 for some ideas is Civ2 is a Turn-Based-Strategy game, I wish more RTS games were easy to mod. Same with FPS.
