Pirates! Mod Scenario

How exactly does bankruptcy work in this mod? .... At one point, I had taken out every one of the first five TGs and the Spanish economy must have tanked. Since the French are not locked at war, I could talk to him and see his techs. To be expected, he had none. OTOH, he did have money. You can see that from the score screen in any game. How that happen?

It cheats. You'll find the Spanish AI will never, ever run out of money. Actually, none of them will. It's just to keep the AI competitive.

Then one day, I somehow wound up at peace with Phillip after the end of one of the many Europeans wars. He offered me 630g for Divine Right. I accepted. I mean what good it THAT gonna do you, dood?

Well, it seems that it did him a lotta good because he started to learn some techs and his science rate grew too. Is there somebody who can explain this?

Not really. The AI in this scenario is screwy. :crazyeye: I've had games as the Pirates where the Spanish went freakin' nuts and started attacking me left, right and center. Occasionally the English or French will get a bee in their bonnet and make an aggressive move too. Dunno why the pirates are such pansies despite my efforts to make them more aggresive.

Will this mod/scenario be converted when bts comes out?

I have the Pirates! and this looks great from what is in it.

hi !!
I need help with this scenario. Where can I find it ( for BTS) ?

No one has converted it to bts yet.

Wow, it's been a long time since I posted. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I have no plans to update the Pirates! mod for BTS.

That's bad! :(
EDIT: Oops! Can someone delete this?

Can anyone else convert this? (Would Dogbeard mind?)

I'll keep it in mind! (Kinda busy right now, so if someone else beats me to it...) ;)

I have already started some but mine will not be exactly the same. I am just borrowing units and civs so far. I might borrow other stuff later.

In Fall from heaven II we got the LANUN civ, which is essentially using the original pirates! models ripped from that game. SO.. if you want them, download FfH II, unpak the pak and use real pirate models ;)

I think I got most of the units that I am going to keep but if I run into trouble or find another I will give it a try.

Kudos to you Dogbeard - you combined my two all-time favourite games into one great adventure! I know I'm late to join the crowd, it's 2008 and I see most of the postings are way back in 06-07... but I really REALLY want to play this scenario. I have vanilla Civ IV and it seems from the mod that it was designed for Warlords? I tried playing it on vanilla but it didn't work... I guess my question is (if you can help me, pleeeeeeease) 1) am I doing something wrong and it should work for vanilla, and 2) if it wasn't designed for vanilla, any way I can tweak it to work for me? Thanks - I love Sid Meier's Pirates! and would eat my firstborn to play it in a Civ scenario, lol.

(PS - sorry if any of this comes across as too elementary - I am totally IT-challenged!)

It is for warlords and you would have to get into some really complex stuff to convert it to vanilla.
