I've been playing Pirates Gold, that was pretty good but quite buggy.

Played Pirates for a long time. It was on the C-64 though. I tried to play Pirates Gold when it came out on the PC, but it had lost its magic by then.

I played Pirates on a c.64 and it was my first really addictive game. I even kept around my c.64 for a couple extra years just for the sole purpose of playing Pirates.

But I never bought Pirates Gold, which seems kind of odd now. Did it have anything new?

I only played Pirates! Gold. I wish they would re-releas it. Attacking Spanish towns is fun. Especially when you get to install a govoner. Flee from my vicious mob...!

Hi there !

Nice to hear the there are others that appriciate SID's good old game Pirates ! Unfortunately the pc versions were never that good and the "pirates gold" made me sick. The Original game however were one of the best game I ever playes ( back in the 80'ties).

If you wanna refresh these good old times again you must play the game from an amiga emulator. The orginal game cant be found to pc so we'll have to use an emulator.

was a brillinat game on the C-64. Why I had to upgrade to a floppy disk drive at $500 from my old cassette tape loader to play it.

Ah .. the extended lunch hours at home playing Pirates! - you know, the "I'll just do one more whip around the Windward Isles" feeling.

The feeling of filling your sloop with your finest crew and taking on all-comers:finger: , although sometimes you would be surprised by the pirate Baron such and such and that juicy looking barque became an overloaded pirate viper

I suppose you could call Pirates the first real RTS!

One of the greatest. I learned much geography from that game too. Pirates, C-64.....those are good memories.
