Placing cities on ressources?

Do you move away from your starting position? I always fear I'll move an yet unseen (strategic) ressource out of my city radius. Starting spots are heavily buffed compared to other terrain, I'm not sure if there are many situations where we can profit by doing it. Also, we lose the most valauble turn of all for snowballing ;)

It happens, mostly to move into coastal or more livestocks within range.
The strategic production loss doesn't bother me to much, the earlier positioning is more important for snowballing IMO. It's not THAT high chance there will be a strategic on it, 10% maybe?
It's also a matter of gamespeed, I can see how moving makes less sence in normal. But on Epic/Marathon I don't mind spending a few turns moving around if I see there is a good spot from turn 1.
But I would move if I could start with 5 :c5food:
