I am sorry but I have to ask...

Hey I was wondering do you have plans to make this mod compatible with the new upcoming expansion pack Beyond the Sword? The new additions that are in it going to be amazing. Although it would take alot of work, It was a few months before total realism became compatible. So again just wondering.:)

Well anyway great mod and good luck.:goodjob:

@ Spartan117

Havent seen you much latelly.

Yes we are planning to convert.
But saying that their changes are amazing... like putting things from SDK to Python to slow up the make, make higher PC requirements are not that amazing. Kael not long ago made a SpeedMod for Vanilla, to hasten the game, by moving Python to SDK. Houman is doing same with TR. But now we hear that they want to slow up the game, raise requirements and say they do that becouse they want to make game easier to be "fixed" by modders (Python is easier to change/edit)... i dont know how long will it take us.

Yea I been busy. School, work, and I was playing Medieval 2 total war. Good game by the way. I liked the different units that were included. Mamluk cavalry, russian cavalry(druiz...), bedioun, etc. Then for the last couple of weeks I have been playing the latest version includes many new units and features. I have to say this mod has come a very long way. Over a year already in the making.

Well anyway, a week ago I seen that a new expansion was to be released. Its great that you are converting.

I was not aware that memory allocation errors and other such things was becoming a huge issue. I was reading on tech support on this forum and was reading up on this. I have experienced these failures and extreme delays in turns before. That is why I dont play the actual world map for this game. I seem to have save games be as large as 1700kbs(or something like that-i am a computer novice:D ).

That was the reason I always supported the idea of having different maps. I.E. map of Europe, Americas, etc..(something along those lines) to get by. INorder to speed the game up and aviod different failures I would shut down barbarians, lower graphic settings to lowest, Shut off effects and set everything to single graphical unit. I hated doing this but I wanted to play various huge maps and even bigger maps like 180 x 120.. I find that the realism world map is not as big for the many civs that are in the game.

Well this is a big letdown that the requirements will go up. In civ 3 maps were generally larger(huge in that game was larger then 120X 8) and in civ 4 they haven gotten smaller. This hurts gameplay bigtime.

I look forward to the eventual release of this mod on the new expansion pack. Vanilla Civ just isnt the same without this mod.

Yea, Civ3 you could play with 30 civs and none started close. And each could easilly found up to 10 cities or more. But you needed atleast winamp running in background :D as turns are longer (tried teturkhans civ 3 mod on worldmap with no cities, 1st turns are longer than on civ4). But again Japan islands could have like 20 cities !!! Our WorldMap allows for 3. (i dont know what is max number possible, but im counting "rational" distances)

I wonder how many features from TR will be in BtS...

To be honest, I don't play civ without TR mod.
When bought warlords, just played once barbarian mod to see what it was.
Then installed TR.
hehe You guys from TR Team sould ask Firaxis to pay you commision, because I would not buy Warlords without your mod. As well I would not buy BTS without "TR platinium" available for it. ;)

Thats a sad truth about modders.
Only copyrights and licence we have are provided by how nice are others that use our mod.

There was a half-life mod named Fire Arms. It was quiete god IMO, but some official game (?) under that name has been made, and provider had diagreed the modders to continue their project with that name and according to law, they had in no position to argue...

 In Real life, how they could force modders to stop the project? No possible!
If the mod is good and game provide the possibility to use mods, people will always find the chance to create and distribute mods.

Even if producers ban modding in any of next expansions, people would simply don't install them to play old good mods.

I said they were not allowed to continue distribiuting mod under old name. They had to change it. Fact is it cripple modders and i havent seen any release or info about them for 3 months ? after that game was made.

To be honest, I don't play civ without TR mod.

I double that. Each game - new concepts (and only world map), new civs, new difficulties etc.
But, refering to Spartan's words - don't you ever make any downgrades of gaphics/units/civs obligatory please. Don't forget that some players have powerful PCs (like me) just as don't forget about these with weaker PCs. If I have long turn duration then only because I do a lot myself. Unfortunately memory errors while saving games touch me a lot and the only countermeasure I've found is saving game manually each turn - in case memory fault error occurs I loose only one turn.

I wonder if the TR team is looking into using the Visa mod's fix for the memory allocation errors.

If possible, keep the additional units from NextWar.

The units are bad ass, and I LOVE the way the Cyborg units look. Maybe you could change what they are, but they look far too bad ass to be left out.

...Maybe like a secret police force? A Police-State unique unit?

Anywho, off topic question: does anyone else's NextWar thing bug? Like, if there's a Mech on screen, it adds a Mech graphic to every tank/plane/boat on the screen?

Yes! This is annoying as heck. I tried mucking with the XML, but I haven't been able to get rid of this.

@ Inganno and frob2900.

The mod is called 'Total Realism'. Future SF units (no matter how probable they are) are not part of this concept.

Sorry guys.

please don't make it slower!!!11!!!1!1!one!!

I have a bad computer as it is, don't make things worse!!!!1!!!11111:cry:

in that case I'm guessing TR will be taking out the race to Alpha Centauri too ;)

Know the difference between Hyperrealism and Total Realism? Why don't we restrict wonders only to civs that originally built them? Why don't we restrict religions only to nations who originally possesed them? Come on...

Why dont you just say that you dont want to ADD anything that is "not too realistic". Im sure it would be in TR if it was part of the vanilla game, but since its not, it would be a bit strange to add.
