I'm a school teacher, of Geography, so I started a Civ3 club for our middle school students. Once a week we play individual games or talk strategy. Any free periods I have that aren't needed for course work are spent prepping for the club. 
At home, I walk a fine line w/ the missus. I've recently introduced SWGB to my 5 y/o, which he loves. Now, we team up in MP games v. computer opponents. And, he has been on me to teach him Civ3. Lesson here: get an accomplice! Quality family time.
