Play the world EP Question

Hi, I have gold edition civ 3 with the play the world EP...

I installed both disks and when i put in civ 3 it wont let me open up civ 3 because it says please put the disk in and try again... but the EP works fine.

is there anything on the civ 3 that i wont be able to play through just having the EP disk in or are they different?

There are some differences, all of which I couldn't easily specify, but I think you're generally better off playing PTW. New civs and Multiplayer capability are probably the biggest changes. Make sure you go to www.civ3.com to get the patches.
