How do I play with more than 18 civs??

Firaxis was kind enough to hard-encode the number 18 into the program so that the maximum number of opponents you can play against at the same time is 18, tops.

We should mass-mail Firaxis a petition to patch this up for us and let us mere mortals, choose how many civs we want to play against. I wish I could have 99 (100 with me) Civs playing on a large map. Now that's what I would call challenging fun. Of course, thanks to the latest patch, I can now have an Epic game (1,000+ turns ) so I won't be bored until the next version of Civ comes out in 2009.

E-mail Firaxis today, let them know we want to encode our own number of opponents to play against. Make Civ 4 the most customizable strategy game ever. Contact your local Congress...err, sorry, got carried away there.

Civ 1 came out in 1993, Civ 2 in 1997 and Civ III in 2001. The pattern is quite clear, each 4 year a new civ.

Wrong, Civ 1 came out in 1991, Civ 2 in 1996, Civ 3 in 2001, Civ 4 in 2005.
Personally, I say Civ 5 will come out in early 2010.
