Playing as a minor civilization

Not that long ago I came across a discussion on a quick tweak to allow you to choose "minor civilization" as an option at the start of the game. I can't track it down through search. Could someone either post the link or the actual tweak? Thanks.

I believe you are referring to the Minor Civilization with Sid as the leaderhead? If so, go to program files/firaxis games/sid meier's civ 4/beyond the sword(or whatever game (vanilla or warlords)/assets/xml/civilizations/civ4civilizationinfos.xml (open in notepad or other word program)...then go down to minor civilzation and change
<bPlayable>0</bPlayable>
<bAIPlayable>0</bAIPlayable> both 0's to 1's...after you do that go down to the next civilization and change the same 0's to 1's...I think you should then save that file in your custom assets folder under custom assets/xml/civilizations...that should work
