Playing with 1 PLOT

I know that 1 or 2 plot is now an option in the map options screen.

But what if I want to play one of the custom scenarios, how can I choose 1 plot option?
It only lets me play with default DLL which is 2 plots.

Can we create an option where any game can be played with 1 or 2 plot cities?

I know you are all volunteers, so thank you for any input!

The mod will create a file called UserSettings.txt. Open that one and you will find this near the top:

# Default max catchment radius for colonies
# Can be changed at new game startup, but engine limitations prevents a GUI for this setting in scenarios
# Note: scenarios can ignore this setting and specify radius
Default Colony Catchment Radius=2

Yeah I already thought of that, but the screen for starting a scenario is in the exe and can't be modded or replaced.

Since we can't change SCENARIOS to 1 plot... can we continue to have 1 plot and 2 plot files as a download option for those of us who want to play on 1 plot with existing scenarios?

I don't know how much work this requires, so it is just a request.
Let me know if that can be an option?

Hello guys... few months ago I left a question in this forum, and it never got answered.
I am just curious, any chance we can go to options of playing 1 or 2 plot games by choosing DLL files ourselves?
Or is this an incredible amount of work?

There is no need to switch DLL-files anymore.

It is an ingame option if you start a "Custom Scenario" / "Custom Game".
All maps / Scnearios should allow to be played by both City Radius Settings (1-Plot and 2-Plot).

All you need to do is chose the "Custom" start variants.
Simply try it.

I spent a day writing the code to to add the option with the limitation that it would require two DLL files. Later I spend way more (at least a week, but I can't remember precisely) to move the setting to switch at runtime. This is a much more difficult task from a technical point of view. However it was worth it as distribution is way easier if we only have one DLL file.

All you need to do is chose the "Custom" start variants.

You don't even have to do that. It's a map option meaning you will be asked even if you click start game.

Hi guys... Thank you for responding.
I know all this takes a lot of time, so if you can't do it, I totally understand.

However, if I go to CUSTOM GAME and play random maps, I get that option.
But if I go to CUSTOM SCENARIO, there is no option to choose 1-plot.

Reason I am asking for this is because it's so much more fun to play on realistic maps... such as RAR AMERICAS HUGE or TAC EAST COAST... etc.
I would really like to be able to have a 1-plot option for those maps.

If this can't be done or if it takes too much work, I understand.
I am very grateful for all that you already do.
However, I don't get those options.

For custom maps, you should edit UserSettings.txt in the mod directory.

Default Colony Catchment Radius=2

Set that to 1 and start the game. I would like to make it controllable ingame, but it's kind of a struggle as that window is in the exe and can't be modded.

Maybe "just" a written notification, pointing to the usersettings.txt, while setting up the game, would help people know what to do?!
