I cut my teeth on Civilization II on Playstation, think PS One not sure but now play on PS2 II.

I have a 70" Flatscreen and its simply awesome playing the original for me that got me started so many years ago.

Here is an issue I can find an answer to:

I discover a village and it spawns a city instead of a settler. Now the new city is way the heck away from my main group of cities.

Does anyone have any idea how I can disband that city, save the settler and relocate to a better location?

This is a very cool game, I am thoroughly enjoying on my 70 inch!

Any help would be appreciated!

70" screen! Wow! I had no idea such a large screen is even commercially available.

As to your question, the way to do it is to put the citizen of that city to produce a settler before it turns size 2. Not only this will disband the city but it will also get you a None settler if the city is closer to rival's territory than yours.

If the city has more than one ciitzen to beign with, as Advanced tribes later in the game often have, the above approach does not work. If you are bent on abondoning the city at any cost you can produce multiple settlers to get it down to size 1, but all of those settlers will be lost when the city is finally disbanded.

Generally, however, it is better to take advantage of the situation and start a colony. Such colonies may not be of much value during high corruption times but often have strategic value and can provide great trading partners later in the game.
