Please Help Me!:(

I've just reinstalled windows xp on my computer, and i've installed civ IV vanilla. now when i click the civIV icon, and the loading bar shows up, the problem occurs. the sign over the bar says "checking XML", and then the bar just disappears, and the game won't load anymore! what should I do??

I would get all the XP updates ( maybe that will help ) and make sure to update your Direct X version to the latest .

That 'may' help , I'm not sure tho .

- patch the game to 1.61
