Please HELP. Spanish version, settler. ini miss

Hi!

I got the Spanish version of Conquest and when I install any mod the program crashes and a message tell me "art/units/settler/settler.ini miss". I know that are some kind of incompatibility problems with foreign versions of CivIII but please, I love the mods, tell me what can I do. Thank You

Make your own .ini it's pretty simple.

I think that the problem is other. All the "missing" files are really files in spanish. I must have all the files in english, there are a zip or something with the files in english? HEEELP

You are right. All the units in your unit directory have spanish names. Therefore the english mods can't find the units. This problem happens in all non-english versions of civ 3.

Here is a simple rename tool for the german version. It's just a bat file. If you translate the german names into the spanish ones then you can use it for your version. There's also a french translation in this thread.

I don't get what you're talking about. If you bought the Spanish version of Civ 3 shoudn't it all be in Spanish?

It isn't necessary to know german. Load the civ3d2us.bat into a text editor program. Search for the jump marks:

":V1" ... ":V69"

Example :V1

:V1
SET E=Aegis Cruiser
SET D=AEGIS-Kreuzer
SET V=V2
goto KOPIEREN

"Aegis Cruiser" is the name of the folder in english
"AEGIS-Kreuzer" is the name of the folder in german

Replace "AEGIS-Kreuzer" by the spanish equivalent. You have to use the exact folder name of your version. The unit folders are in "...\Civilization III\Art\units\".

Now repeat this for all 69 units. Afterwards save the file and copy it in the civ3 directory. Before you start it, you should make a backup copy of civ 3.
