When everI start Civ IV, the intro is all chopy with sound and video! Then it's like that throughout all the videos in the game! I ran the srtest.com utility, that said my video card wasn't good enough, here's the specs:
nVidia GeForce 2 MX (64mb) with 256mb of ram (Pentium 4). What should I upgrade? Any model suggestions would help! (preferbly less than $80 on video card)
Thanks

It's worth it to spend a little bit more on a video card. Many people don't understand this, but it is the single most important component in a computer for most games today. I blame companies like Dell who tout computers with 3.4 GHz CPUs, but only include onboard graphics accelerators or Geforce MX cards.

Anyway, you should be picking up a Geforce 6600 GT. Try www.newegg.com, it's the very best place to buy computer hardware.

Furthermore, here's a link to the card you should buy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814150098

Thanks, I can relate to the Dell problems. I bought this computer not quite a year ago, with 3.o GHz, an d they dump probably the worst video card they can find on me :aargh:

You should also get more RAM, 256 isn't nearly enough. Windows XP will use that all on it's own, leaving nothing for anything else. 512 is the minimum that XP machines should have, with 1 gig or more being the recommended amount.
