Please help

I'm trying to find a scenario with the huge earth map where all of the countries are in their respective locations. Starting 4000 BC. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, thanks but I don't want all that. I just want to play Civ on the earth map with all the countries where they go.

The game already comes with an earth map. I don't like that map either because the easten end of Asia is cut off.

I just want a scenario using the Earth map, where nothing else is changed other than the fixed points where each tribe starts.

So you don't want a new map, just the starting locations for the Firaxis one? Why can't you place them yourself? Just click on the overlays button, scroll down to Player Starting Locations, and place them on the map, then right-click on them and go to Reassign to set the civ.

Not that simple... I'd want to do it right. Probably research the origins of each tribe to their most appropriate location, or atleast pinpoint the location of their capital city.

You'd think someone would've done this by now... Actually, you think it would've been include in the game to begin with. After all, what's the point in even having the earth map if everything is all mixed up? I mean if I wanted a surprise I'd just generate a random map from the begining. Am I right?

This is TETurkhan's world map. And yes, the cities are placed in the right places. Plus, he already put a Silk Road that connects Europe to Asia.

Okay, I made you (TexasJim) the Huge Firaxis Earth Map, which is really awful, btw, with correct player starting locations, as best as I could get them.
It's in Civ 3 Vanilla.

Wow, thanks! I can play that with conquests right?

I'm not saying that guy's map isn't better but... For one, he said he didn't place any resources/lux. on it. Also, the eastern end of Asia is cut of meaning the X-axis can't (or shouldn't) be connected. That would really limit alot of gameplay IMO.

If you look at the screenshots, you can clearly see plenty of resources, and that the edges of the map line up perfectly. But play whatever you want.

Yeah, you can play it with Conquests. Just go to Civ-Content and it should be under there.

Thankyou. There's no starting points for the new Civ's in conquest though right?

WeaselOp why are you coming at me with an attitude? All I did was ask for the starting points and you're making faces at me going yeah you want a map, here's a map. Starting points, Weasel. START-ING POINT-S.

You asked for a map, and I pointed one out. You shot it down, and asked for a specific map. I suggested you try what you wanted for yourself. You later explained why you didn't want the other one, and I corrected you. I wasn't trying to "come at you with an attitude." I was just promoting the much better map. But like I said, play what you want.

The rules have been changed for that scenario.

yea, they have been changed. that was the map can be over 160X160. that's all it is. that's considered a rule change.

if you are so worried about the lack of resources, then go into the editor and do this:

Map -> Redistribute Natural Resources

Here's a tip: If you want something, and no one else can do it for you, at least not how you want, then do it yourself.
