I've recently got a new computer running Windows 7 and tried to install civ4, warlords and Bts.

After first instaliing civ4 vanilla from my original disc and trying to run the game i got the following message, "your version of civ4 isn't compatible with this version of windows"
"this program has know windows 7 compatability issues".

Please help me to carry on playing civ 4 bts as it's my favourite pc game ever, and i would be lost without my civ fix.

I need your help to get this game to work on my new pc.Everything worked fine on my old pc running windows xp.:goodjob:

If you play with a shortcut, right click on that shortcut and select Properties. Find the Compatibility tab, and check mark "Play in compatibility mode". Select Windows XP SP2 or SP3. Should run from there. Might also want to check "Run as administrator".

Correct. Just install as per my thread and then apply the patches and you should not have any problems.

NOTE: The links to patches generate erros, so I will re-host the patches on another server.

Thanks guys, followed Kiwitt's thread and managed to get the game working ok.Even all my saved games are fine.Great work.

However, i'm now getting this message at the in-game menu when the game has loaded :-
Invalid device.
"you have selected an unusable voice capture device.Voice capture disabled."

Does anyone know what this means and how to stop this message.It keeps popping up all the time even when i cancel it ? How do i get rid of this annoying pop up ? :goodjob:

Check your options in the menu and disable the voice capture. Alternatively, check your "CivilizationIV.ini" file in ...\Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\

Code:
; Enable voice over IP capture and playback
EnableVoice = 1
change to
Code:
; Enable voice over IP capture and playback
EnableVoice = [B]0[/B]

I can't see how you can turn off voice capture in the options.I'm looking under audio options but how do i turn it off ?

Once again thanks guys, top advice as usual from the civ community.Editing the ini. file as Kwitt suggested did the trick. :goodjob:
