Do you still remember when Rainbow Six first came out? 60 bucks, right? Well, now there's the "Rainbow Six collection" or something, and it only costs 79 bucks, and it has all the software ever released about Rainbow six (over 5 cds) and all the strategy guides. The whole package weighs five pounds (I saw it at Costco).

The question is: are you going to wait until there's such deal for Civ3, or are you going to spend 70 bucks buying Civ3 as soon as it comes out? Even if you wait a couple of weeks, you can save 50%, but can you survive the couple of weeks with everyone talking about it in the forums?

My answer: I'm buying it the minute it hits the stores!

I'm going to buy it immediately. When such deals come out in the future, great. But I don't want to wait that long. I mean, I'm in no hurry for them to release it; I want them to get all the bugs out and tweak it here and there and make it the best game they can, and even if that takes another year to do, so be it. But once it's released . . . I'm not just going to let it sit on the shelf for some jerk to buy while I wait for them to lower the price.

I'm gonna buy it straightaway. I want to so that I can be the first on the forum to learn and tell people abuot some of the new s*** and how it works, what's wrong with it, etc...

Also, I couldn't stand sitting in here waiting for the second edition while everyone else spills everything about how cool the new game is.

Well, I'm screwed anyway because I'm probably going to have to wait an additional length for the Mac version to come out. There is a PC (Piece-o-Crap) around the house, but its a laptop and I can't see myself playing civ on a laptop!

You guys can tell me all about 3 so that I can go instantly into Zulu @$$ woomping mode when I do get it!

Scince I probably wont be able to get it straight away as I am in Aus, I'll probaly wait about 2-3 weeks to get it at a lower price. <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/biggrin.gif" border=0> But I can change my mind

99% of games i'll wait 6 months or more before i buy it

games like star fleet command 2, i'm going to wait like another few month before i consider buying it..

ussualy it takes them 6 month to work all the bugs out *cough* *laughs at CornMaster*

and they'll go down in price a lot after 6 months

but there are those games.. regardless, that you gotta have NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!! hehehe

AND I WAITED 3 MONTHS!!!!

I could have waited 3 years and it will probably still suck!!!! If they're not careful, and they're next patch fixes everything, the patch could win "Game of the Year" instead of the game.

(IT'S THAT BAD!!!)

But.....I'll love to get it as soon as it comes out......but I'll probably wait incase of bugs. I don't want to get burned like SFC2

I am going to get it as soon as I possibly can. I will be very angry if I have to wait because I'm in Australia. If I do, are there any yanks, that would send me a copy?

Gotta think ahead you know!

I couldn't stand reading about all the trials and woes in the forum and I can't play.

I'll pull my hair out!

Ditto that, I am in England and I am very scared that I will have to sit here listening to the Americans going on about it without it being even released over here. Can you believe that sometimes they release British films in America before Britain?

I don't care if it cost me 1000 dollars! I am going to have it as fast as possible!

Well, that was a lie. I can't afford a 1000 dollar game. But I can take a 100 dollars.

I'll try and scam it for Christmas, but if not then, I'll probably have to wait for the price drop.

However, if it is popular, that may be a while. I noticed that The Sims is still hovering around $50 bucks in most stores and it has been out for many many months. I doubt I'll want to wait that long.

I'll have to wait to see the system requirements. I seriously expect to have to upgrade to even be able to play it, and then we're talking negotiating with my wife on the family budget to upgrade our computer just to play a game she hates me spending so much time on already

<IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/spanking.gif" border=0> That'll be a hard sell. <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif" border=0> THEN maybe I can get the game. Of course, it will have gone down in price by then <IMG SRC="http://forums.civfanatics.com/ubb/biggrin.gif" border=0>

Yeah I will HAVE to upgrade. I have no doubt!

This 133 mhz barely runs CIVII and TOT doesn't get used because it keeps jamming up!
frown.gif

My `puter WAS running at 166mhz but it hit bluescreen city!!! I had built the swine from parts that I could gather up (some from my 100mhz) and I think I have the jumper settings wrong, but what I don't get is that it was running fine with Win ME for months. Then BANG wouldn't work!?!? Now I have to use 98 coz Win ME needs 150mhz
frown.gif

Does anyone know how this could possibly happen? Now I can't even find a configuration to get 166mhz happening! I can get 200mhz up but it won't get past updating DMI (whatever that is) on startup!

It really is a 'strategy game' in its self to get this piece of sh*t running!

I have to get a better computer, or at LEAST gather up some better components. I have an intel PI, does anyone know how to overclock? I heard that Intel chips take a beating.

I have nothing to lose!

Is it possible that it wont finish booting up at 200mhz because the motherboard wont take it? It's a socket 7

I would appreciate someone giving me some advice, or when you get home from work, YOUR `puter will prolly be missing!

LOL

I think I'll wait for a few reviews first. I'm not the type that has to have something the very first second it comes out. You pay top price for one, and secondly, there's no point getting the game unless there's a bunch of others to play with anyway. And that won't be for awhile.

I'm sure it will be great, so there's no worry of it selling out or anything.

That being said, the main reason for waiting is that I'm a cheap bastard. If it ain't on sale, I usually don't buy it.

i'm going to get it as soon as i can!

i've had Civ II since the month it came out, and i got TOT later (why? i don't know, but ilike the fantasy part a tiny bit). I can't wait for a new version with better AI and diplomacy

*eg*

I'm probaly going to wait on it, after all I only got Civ II three years ago, and I had Civ II on my mac for years before that. I'll probaly want some reviews, though I'll probaly have the money for it this time. (Hard to get newest game when I was only 14. But now, going to college, should be easier.)

P.S. I wanted to wait on SFC 2, but then my parents gave it to me as a Hanukkah present present

I'm going to pick it up the day it is released. And I don't care if I have to wrestle the last copy out of some old ladies hand!!

Well, since I am dane I guess that civ3 first will hit the stores when all you guys have bought civ3 gold and Civ3 FAntastci Worlds.

But when civ3 comes to Denmark, I guess I'm gonna buy it just when I hear about it.
